In this episode, Shah opens up about the mindset shifts and bounce-back moments that defined his path—whether it was conquering his first marathon as a father and entrepreneur or navigating the challenges and realizations that inspired his philosophy of preventative wellness. Alongside host Bishoy Tadros, you’ll hear candid reflections on overcoming imposter syndrome, integrating family and career, and disrupting industry norms to find true meaning and impact. If you’re searching for inspiration to bet on yourself, embrace the unknown, or redefine success on your own terms, you’ll find it in this episode. Dr. Shah Ahmed is a physician who began his career in the operating room as a neuroanesthesiologist at NYU. After years in academic medicine, he transitioned to community practice on Long Island, where his focus has evolved from putting patients to sleep to helping them wake up to the best version of themselves. Shah's journey into wellness was personal before it became professional. When his wife was expecting their first child, he realized I wasn’t in the shape—physically or mentally. He dove deep into nutrition, strength, and longevity science, ultimately shedding over 25 pounds of fat while holding onto lean muscle. That experience showed him how powerful personalized health strategies can be. Today, he brings that same approach to his clients: blending traditional medical expertise with modern tools like advanced labs, DEXA body composition scans, and hormone optimization to create individualized plans that actually work. Shah studied at Cornell University, earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester, and completed his anesthesiology residency at NYU, where he served as Chief Resident. Those years taught him precision, discipline, and how to stay calm under pressure, skills he now applies to guiding patients through long-term health transformations. His practice, Weight Loss and Vitality, is based in Riverhead, where he lives with his wife and their two young sons. At the heart of his work is a simple belief: good health isn’t about chasing numbers, it’s about building a life strong enough to carry you through the decades ahead. That means balancing the science of medicine with the art of daily living—nutrition, sleep, exercise, and purpose.
