Show Notes
Welcome to episode 207 of the Mile 40 Podcast. Days before the New York City Marathon, we sit down with Richard Whitehead, a Paralympic gold medalist, world record holder and soon-to-be 109th-time marathoner.
Richard was born with a disability, and doctors told his parents life would be hard. His parents saw sport as a way to open doors, and he spent decades fighting for every medal and opportunity. We talk about growing up without running technology, getting his first running prosthetics at 28, running his first New York City Marathon in 2004, and why he now wants people to see opportunity before inspiration.
