The thought might seem trendy at first glance, but as we dove deeper, we uncovered the profound reasons why people are choosing this path of self-discovery and self-improvement. Hilary Sheinbaum decided to embark on a month-long journey of sobriety, and by day ten, she already noticed remarkable changes in her sleep, mental clarity, and overall well-being. She discovered a new sense of presence, an awakened mind, and better recovery. Of course, her experience may not be the same for everyone, and we're not here to preach or tell you what to do.

Despite her own personal changes, Hilary talks about maintaining friendships and dating in a world where alcohol sometimes reigns front and center. She came to realize that the activities themselves bring joy with or without the booze. On this episode, we talk about navigating social interactions, including dating, without alcohol. We uncover the power of genuine connection free from filters and ambiguity. We dive into Hilary's journey and uncover her path as she has now established herself as an authority in the world of sobriety, and her book, "The Dry Challenge," is a comprehensive guide for anyone considering a month without alcohol.

Hilary Sheinbaum is an independent journalist and the author of The Dry Challenge: How to Lose the Booze for Dry January, Sober October, and Any Other Alcohol-Free Month (HarperCollins), a judgment-free guide to giving up alcohol for a month-long period.

Hilary is a prominent figure in the sober curious/nonalcoholic beverage space. She is an advocate for dry months and exploring fun, new and different ways to live a happy, adventurous, big life. Already in 2023, she has been featured extensively in news articles and on broadcast segments including: MarketWatch’s piece on nonalcoholic options on St. Patrick's Day, The New York Times which calls "Ms. Sheinbaum, the Dry January M.V.P.,” The Wall Street Journal in a front page story, Good Morning America in a dry dating segment with Michael Strahan, on NY1 mixing a N.A. cocktail, and discussing Dry January tips on CBS NY, CBS Miami, and NBC Streaming. Hilary also regularly appears on Good Morning America’s Instagram (3.4 million followers) and website, making her own N.A. concoctions. Her first TEDx Talk will take place in September and cover the topic of dry dating.
